+220 in Math
“After completing the prep, my math score improved from 690 on my first try to an incredible 790 on my second try!”
Initially, I took my first SAT without any preparation to see where I stood, and I scored a 570. It was a baseline, but I knew I had to raise my score to qualify for Bright Futures since I’m planning to attend FIU. The score felt low, and I realized I needed help, especially since I struggled to understand the math questions on the test.
Coming into the course, I was optimistic about the virtual group learning experience. I liked the idea of not having to drive to a location and being able to log in easily. During the classes, I found my group to be just the right size, about five people, and they were at a similar math level. It felt comfortable, and the tutors were responsive to our feedback on the pace of the lessons.
The amount of work was intense, but I was committed. I did around five hours of homework every day, even during vacation, waking up early so I could finish before my family started their day. I knew that practice was essential to do well, and I wanted to maximize my improvement. It was definitely a lot of work, but I found that working during the summer allowed me to focus solely on the SAT without the distraction of school assignments and extracurriculars.
After completing the prep, my math score improved from 690 on my first try to an incredible 790 on my second try! My super score ended up being 1460. I couldn’t believe it—I was really nervous during the first test, and I knew I could do better. The practice I got with Peace of Pi helped me tremendously.
For other students on their SAT prep journey, I recommend following the homework plan closely. It’s important to do the work in the order given, as it builds on itself. Staying calm during the test is also crucial; if you don’t do well the first time, don’t stress about it—take it again if you can. I found that I didn’t need to study as hard for the second test because I had already reviewed everything through the program.
Overall, my experience with Peace of Pi was incredibly positive, and I’m grateful for the support and structure they provided. I definitely recommend it to any student looking to improve their SAT scores!
